Simón Bolívar was the former president of Bolivia who is a decendant of a venezuelan aristocrat. He represented independence movements against spain for nations in South America. National-Geographic-Simon-Bolivar
He represents my main theme because he was involved politically and is of hispanic descent.
Bolívar was born in 1783 in Caracas, Venezuela. He spent time in Europe where he got married and attended school in Spain and France, he never attended a university. https://www.studentsofhistory.com/simon-bolivar-liberator
He is considered to be a liberator, thinker, and reformer due to his strong approach to lead people in a fight against the Spanish government. https://www.crf-usa.org/images/pdf/simonboliver.pdf
He was able to get Ecuador and Venezuela their independence in 1821 and 1822.
Bolívar was not perfect but his strong leadership resonates with me and he is seen as a hero for many people.
