In this course and in previous courses I have seen my progress in communicating in Spanish during and after talkabroad conversations. These conversations have been helpful because I was able to speak to people from different hispanic countries, and I have been able to learn about the cultural differences in each country.  The cultural readings in the chapters of the book were interesting because they taught me about festivals, food, and other forms of celebration that take place in countries like chile, ecuador, and Argentina. Learning new vocabulary in the book and homework is a highlight I take away from this course because during the talkabroad I was able to use what I learned. If I had shortcomings in the conversations it motivated me to study the words more in preparation for future moments where I would speak in Spanish.

I have taken Spanish during the summers because it gave me time to focus more on the individual course unlike a full semester where I take around 4 - 6 courses. It has given me more of an opportunity to embrace learning about Spanish and what it has to offer me in work environments, social gatherings, restaurants, and when I travel. Every course is a little different based on the level of Spanish and the professor that I had but it has been a good experience. My goal is to be a much better speaker of Spanish by this time next year and I hope to continue to see progress. I would say that is my longterm goal, to just see progress.
